Grandmother unhappy with dog-attack ruling

he 81-year-old West Coast victim of a pig-dog attack says the sentence handed to the dogs' owner is too lenient.

In the Greymouth District Court yesterday, Judge Dave Saunders ordered freezing worker Ian Stewart Fitzpatrick, 35, to pay $2000 to his neighbour, Edna Thomas, for the injuries and emotional harm she suffered from the attack on October 19 last year. MORE>>

    The grandmother had also been throwing stones at the dogs the week previous to the attack and hit 2 of the dogs with the umbrella, as seen by the owners young daughter she had access to the front door without seeing the dogs and they were 2 border collies and a labrador not pitbulls and rotties as reported to the greystar paper

    There is ALWAYS a reason for an attack. Shame on the paper for wrongful reporting. Have you contacted the editor to set them straight?!
