Christchurch dog attacks down

The number of dog attacks in Christchurch has dropped dramatically since new licensing laws were introduced in 2003.

    The statistics may say that dog attacks are down but "dramatically" associating them with new licensing laws reads more like bureaucracy rewarding itself. It might be the social consequence of changing behaviours due to extensive media coverage given by some of the sensational cases.

    In order words, people are increasing resistant to letting officials know about how they acquired a bite since they don't want to dob in the dog that is known to them.
